Role Description The NYS Licensed Massage Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Binghamton, NY. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing therapeutic massage sessions tailored to client needs, conducting thorough client intake and assessments, and maintaining accurate and confidential client records. The role involves educating clients on stress management, self-care, and wellness practices, as well as recommending appropriate treatment plans. The therapist will prepare and maintain treatment rooms, uphold cleanliness and safety standards, and collaborate with the team to ensure a consistent, upscale client experience. Additional duties include managing appointment times, providing excellent customer service, and participating in occasional training or staff meetings.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated proficiency in Therapeutic Massage and Body Massage techniques, with the ability to tailor sessions to individual client needs.
• Experience or training in Shiatsu and related modalities that support holistic wellness and relaxation.
• Skills in Stress Management coaching and the ability to educate clients on self-care and wellness strategies.
• Strong Customer Service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a client-focused approach.
• Current New York State License in Massage Therapy and compliance with all state and local regulations.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and accurate documentation.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions associated with massage work.
• Willingness to work a consistent full-time schedule, including some evenings or weekends as needed.
• Prior experience in an upscale spa or wellness setting is preferred but not required.
