For more than 21 years, Empower Fitness has helped adults and youth athletes throughout the Durham-Chapel Hill community become stronger, healthier, and more confident. Our studio is built around expert coaching, personalized care, and a welcoming community, not a traditional gym or spa.

As we continue expanding our recovery and wellness services, we're looking for an experienced Massage Therapist to join our team and share our therapy room with our current Thai Massage Therapist.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a licensed massage therapist who is passionate about helping people feel and move their best. Our ideal candidate specializes in:
• Therapeutic Massage
• Sports Massage
• Deep Tissue Massage
• Orthopedic or Medical Massage
• Recovery-focused bodywork

We especially welcome independent massage therapists with an established client base who are looking for a professional home where they can continue growing their business. We also encourage experienced therapists currently working in spas, franchises, chiropractic offices, or other corporate settings who are ready to take the next step toward building their own practice.

About Our Clients

Our clients are active adults, busy professionals, retirees, fitness enthusiasts, and youth athletes who value high-quality, evidence-informed care. Many already prioritize their health through personal training, strength training, and performance coaching, making massage therapy a natural complement to the services they already receive.

This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a team of experienced personal trainers and fitness professionals who regularly identify clients who would benefit from massage therapy and recovery services.

While our massage room is private, clean, comfortable, and welcoming, you will occasionally hear the energy of workouts and conversations happening elsewhere in the studio. Minimum Qualifications

Required
• Current North Carolina Massage & Bodywork Therapy License
• Minimum 1 year of professional massage experience
• Professional liability insurance
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently as an independent contractor

Preferred
• Three or more years of professional experience
• Experience treating active adults and athletes
• Existing client base
• Sports Massage, Orthopedic Massage, Medical Massage, or other advanced therapeutic training
