The Role
The Esthetician or Medical Aesthetician performs aesthetic services allowed per the scope under their current state license. The role provides recommendations and adds skincare products to each service, adding value to the patient experience. The Esthetician or Medical Aesthetician is able to meet or exceed daily, monthly, and yearly sales and service goals and is capable of performing all job functions with little supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Schedules and performs esthetic and cosmetic services to the need of the business. Demonstrates the ability to build and develop consistent patient flow. Assists providers, clinical and administrative staff with daily functions essential to the patient experience.
• Punctual for all work shifts and to office meetings and trainings.
• Manages daily product and supply inventory while working with buyers and vendors to ensure proper product ordering.
• Communicates and works with the physicians, management/marketing team, and vendors to maintain product inventory and offer promotions and discounts as well as effectively notifies staff about the daily schedule changes.
• Utilizes multiple computer systems to communicate with patients and staff.
• Performs daily/weekly social posts to promote events happening in the office and to engage a new patient base.
• Prioritizes the daily goals and responsibilities. Photographs documentation-taking before and after pictures of all esthetic procedures.
The Esthetician's scope of work generally includes treatments such as: an in-depth analysis & cleansing of the skin, exfoliation, application of masks that hydrate, refine pores, help make the skin look firmer and younger, facials, aromatherapy, massage, hair removal services like waxing, threading, and tweezing, treatments to address sun damage, acne, wrinkles or oily or dry skin, assisting patients with pre- and post-injection care, body sculpting, and demonstrating proper product usage at home.
The Medical Aesthetician's scope of work also includes: skin rejuvenation, skin tightening therapies that induce natural collagen production, laser hair removal, manual lymphatic drainage after surgery or because of a medical condition, sclerotherapy for varicose vein removal, permanent or semi-permanent makeup applications like eyebrows, lip color, microblading, eyelash extensions, or eyeliner, and scar or blemish removal.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completed a vocational training at an accredited Esthetician or Medical Aesthetician program
• Licensed Esthetician or Medical Aesthetician in North Carolina
• Current BLS certification¹
• Infection control training¹
• Sterile processing certification/experience¹
¹ Or obtained within 90 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Medical laser and device experience (willing to train)
• Has an established social media presence/following
