Entry-Level Nail Apprentice / Assistant (Paid Training Provided)

Position: Nail Apprentice & Salon Assistant (Paid Training in Premium Japanese Gel Nail Systems)

Salary: $15.23 per hour (Guaranteed Minimum Wage including Tips)
• [Compensation Details]: Base cash wage paid by employer starts at $7.00 - $8.00/hr, with the remaining amount covered by retained tips. If total earnings (Base Wage + Tips) do not reach $15.23/hr in any workweek, the employer strictly pays the difference to guarantee full minimum wage.

[Job Description & Phase-Based Role]

We are a premier nail salon in New Jersey known for our high-end Specialized Japanese Gel Nail Services. We are currently looking for a passionate U.S. citizen or permanent resident to join our team as an Apprentice/Assistant.

Because Japanese gel systems require advanced precision, we do not expect entry-level candidates to perform these high-end services immediately. Instead, we offer a 100% fully paid, step-by-step apprenticeship program to help you become a certified master while maintaining top-tier salon operations.

1. Phase 1 (Immediate Core Duties):
• Perform basic manicures, pedicures, and gel removal (soak-off) under senior technician supervision.
• Maintain overall salon cleanliness, including sweeping, dusting, organizing supply shelves, and general store tidying.
• Strictly execute salon sanitation and sterilization of all nail implements/hardware in full compliance with New Jersey State Board regulations.

2. Phase 2 (Paid Technical Training): Participate in structured, hands-on paid training sessions to learn premium Japanese pot-gel systems, overlay structuring, and advanced nail artistry.

3. Phase 3 (Transition): Graduate to serving clients independently for premium Japanese gel services as your speed and technique advance.

[Qualifications & Requirements]
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen or Green Card Holder). Form I-9 verification required upon hire.
• Valid NJ Nail Technician License or currently enrolled in an accredited beauty school (Apprentice permit holders welcome).
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to handle salon maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation duties thoroughly.
• Extreme dedication to learning high-end, premium Japanese nail art techniques.

Pay: From $15.23 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10.0 per week
