Medical Receptionist & Licensed Nail Technician – Podiatry
•Chicago MedspaExternalAbout the Role Michigan Avenue Medical Group is expanding its Podiatry Division to include medical pedicure services for patients with specialized foot care needs, including diabetics, elderly patients, and individuals with nail disorders. We are looking for a Licensed Nail Technician who can also serve as a front-facing clinical team member — handling patient intake, scheduling, and administrative support alongside delivering professional, podiatrist-supervised foot care. This is a unique opportunity to work in a clean, professional clinical environment — no salon pressure, no walk-ins, just focused patient care. Job Responsibilities Clinical / Nail Tech Duties Perform medical pedicures (non-cosmetic, podiatrist-supervised foot care)Trim, shape, and clean toenails using sterilized, medical-grade instrumentsSafely reduce calluses, corns, and dry skin following medical protocolsApply medical-grade foot care products (antifungal polishes, urea-based creams, etc.)Identify and flag patients requiring podiatrist intervention (infections, severe ingrown toenails, etc.)Educate patients on proper foot hygiene and home nail care routinesMaintain strict OSHA and CDC-compliant sanitation and infection control standardsFront Desk / Administrative Duties Answer and manage incoming phone calls professionallyCheck patients in and out at each visitSchedule patient appointments and follow-upsScan and upload documents into patient charts (EMR/EHR system)Collect and process patient paymentsDevelop a working understanding of medical billing and insurance proceduresAssist with scanning patients for orthotics and organizing/tracking orthotic ordersMaintain a clean, organized front desk and clinical workspaceQualifications Active Illinois Nail Technician License (Required)Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization protocolsAbility to provide attentive, gentle care to high-risk patients (diabetics, elderly)Comfortable answering phones and communicating with patients in a professional mannerBasic computer proficiency — ability to learn EMR/scheduling softwareExcellent customer service and patient communication skillsExperience in a medical, podiatry, or clinical spa setting is a strong plusWillingness to train under podiatrist supervision in medical foot care and office proceduresJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract Base Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible scheduleProfessional development assistanceWork Location: In person
