A nail technician, also known as a manicurist or pedicurist, helps clients to improve their appearance. Their main duties include giving manicures and pedicures. Some nail technicians may also provide expanded services such as the application and removal of various types of artificial nail systems, including acrylic nails, porcelain nails, silk nails, fiberglass nails and nail art.
Pay: $ 15.70 - $16.25 Hourly + Tips and Commissions

Duties of a Nail Technician:
Nail technicians may perform the following tasks:
Apply gel and acrylic nail enhancements and extensions
Perform manicures and pedicures
Use specialist tools and electrical equipment on nail enhancements
Apply decorative and airbrushed nail art
Maintain safe work practices and hygiene standards
Read and interpret product information to make safe and appropriate recommendations to clients
Conduct financial transactions
Perform reception duties (receiving bookings and arranging appointments, for example)
Perform routine housekeeping duties
Maintain client records
Provide advice about and sell nail products
Maintain knowledge of current industry standards and practices.

Physical Demands
Working as a nail technician can be physically demanding. Repetitive activities and sitting for long periods can cause strain, while chemicals such as those used in acrylics and polish removers may pose a health risk if not used correctly. Personal protective equipment such as gloves, aprons, dust masks and safety glasses may be worn to minimize risk. Safety considerations include the welfare of both the technician and the client.
Nail technicians have a high level of public contact.
Work Environment
Nail technicians work in sanitary and clean environments.
Nail technicians are required to keep their equipment and tools clean so that they can prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Nail technicians not only work with nails, but they also perform other duties around the salon.

Responsibilities
Provide professional nail care services including manicures, pedicures, nail trimming, shaping, polish application, and basic hand and foot care
Travel to senior living communities and private residences
Create a comfortable, safe, and positive experience for senior clients
Maintain high sanitation and cleanliness standards
Communicate professionally with clients, caregivers, and team members
Manage appointments and maintain reliability and punctuality

Qualifications
Active nail technician or cosmetology license in Arizona
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality
Strong customer service and communication skills
Experience working with seniors is a major plus
Mobile or senior living experience preferred but not required
