Stylist (Hair Stylist for Locs)

NappStar is seeking a Stylists with a passion for locs that wants to become an expert! This is the perfect position for a loc stylist who has years of experience but still needs coaching & support. The NappStar model will allow them to grow their skills, with a team by their side. Full-time and part-time applicants are welcome to apply.

Stylist Pay



First 90 days: $18/hr - $22/hr + Tips
After 90 days: 40% commission (no hourly pay) Full Time is eligible for bonuses, benefits & PTO after 90 days

Willing to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Physical requirements of this position include: standing / walking for sustained periods of time, lifting up to 10 pounds / continuous repetitive movement with fingers, hands, wrists and arms, and continuous grasping and reaching / Continually required to bend, stoop, and talk
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.






Skill Requirements



Required Technical Skills: Shampoo Service, Treatments, Comb Retwist ( 4+ Comb Retwists/shift), Starter Locs, and Loc Styling experience.
Crochet, micro loc, loc combination and experience with other Loc services are a plus.
Required Soft Skill: Active listening, adapbility to business needs, effective communication skills, problem solving skills.






Position Job Duties:



Maintain a positive attitude and contribute towards a quality work environment
Clock In / Clock out for shifts
Be on time for shift
Perform services within time standards
In uniform, and meeting hair and make up standards
Complete open / close tasks per shift
Follow our salon standards for services, behavior and general workflow
Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training clients in these areas
Keep a clean & hygienic work space
Service clients within NappStar standards for quality of service and time standards
Develop professional relationships with regular clients & welcome new clients
Assist fellow stylists with services during downtown to ensure no wait time for clients
Communicate effectively with Front Desk team about service pricing and client notes
Offer Consultation in NappStar standards
Participate in creating content with the social media team for salon marketing
Keep up to date & innovative with the latest styles & trends for locs
Offer hair services up to NappStar standards to all clients
Participate in Check Ins & Reviews
Offer client service Redo’s at no-charge
Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record
Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product
Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the salon’s policies and procedures
Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or clients in the salon that require attention
Maintain complete confidentiality in all client matters in accordance with company policy
Handle client questions and concerns professionally
Communicate effectively with clients ensuring complete client satisfaction
Possess the ability to work without direct supervision
Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the salon
Assist in all areas of salon operations, as requested by management
Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the salon










Salary
$18 - $22 per hour
