Part-Time Massage therapist Needed - Ayurveda-Focused Wellness Practice

Who We Are

AyurVida Wellness is a calm, intentional space built around Ayurvedic healing traditions and nervous system care. Our clients come to us looking for real therapeutic depth, not a quick spa visit and we're building a team that reflects that. We're currently searching for a licensed massage therapist who treats their craft as a healing practice, not just a service.

If you have any background in Abhyanga (traditional Ayurvedic oil massage), we'd especially love to hear from you.

Scheduling Details

This is a shift-based position — we're not looking for general availability, but specific recurring time slots.
• Days we need covered: Tuesday and Thursday (top priority); Wednesday or Friday could also work if your schedule aligns better
• Time windows:
• 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (mornings), or
• Somewhere within 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM (afternoons) — we'll coordinate a fixed 3-hour block together

You're free to begin with just one shift per week. If it's working well for both sides, there's room to add a second later. Ideally you'd keep the same day/time each week going forward, though we won't rule out applicants who can't commit to that right away.

What We're Hoping to Find
• A therapist who already has their own clientele or part-time work elsewhere and is looking to add one or two shifts nearby
• Someone based within about a 15–20 minute commute of Mission Hills, San Diego 92103 — this matters a lot for the role
• A practitioner who treats massage as genuine wellness care, not a purely mechanical or transactional service
• Bonus: training or hands-on experience with Abhyanga
• A calm, emotionally grounded presence — someone comfortable creating a safe, therapeutic atmosphere
• Dependable, on time, and professional in how they show up

Minimum Requirements
• Active CAMTC certification (California)
• Solid foundation in anatomy and hands-on technique
• Mature, professional communication style
• High standards for hygiene and personal presentation

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Deliver massage sessions tailored to each client's individual wellness goals
• Perform intake assessments and share simple aftercare recommendations
• Keep your treatment room clean, calm, and welcoming
• Coordinate respectfully with the rest of our holistic care staff
• Apply a range of techniques — deep tissue, trigger point work, and others — based on client needs
• Keep accurate, privacy-compliant records of treatments and client history
• Share practical self-care and pain-management guidance with clients
• Follow all safety and sanitation protocols, including maintaining CPR certification
• Loop in other practitioners or healthcare providers when a client's care calls for it
• Keep learning — new techniques, terminology, and approaches in the field

Additional Preferred Qualifications
• Current, valid massage therapy licensure per state requirements
• Prior experience in a medical spa or occupational health setting is a plus
• Working knowledge of physiology, pain management, and client assessment
• A genuinely warm, empathetic approach with clients
• Comfort with deep tissue and trigger point therapy especially valued
