Master Barber/Stylist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Master Barber to join our vibrant salon team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for men’s grooming, classic and modern barbering techniques, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional, high-end client experience. This role involves providing a wide range of premium services including precision haircuts, advanced beard grooming, traditional hot towel shaves, and specialized hair treatments. The Master Barber will also leverage strong commercial acumen, client retention strategies, and retail cross-selling to drive business growth and maximize personal revenue.

Responsibilities
• Deliver High-End Barbering Services: Perform precision haircuts (including skin fades, tapers, pompadours, and crop tops), beard styling, line-ups, and traditional wet shaves using a straight razor with meticulous care.
• Execute Technical Grooming Treatments: Provide specialized scalp treatments, hair coloring/grey blending (camo color), hair texturizing, and facial grooming services tailored to the modern gentleman.
• Drive Retail and Commercial Growth: Actively consult clients on premium hair and beard care products (oils, pomades, clays, waxes) and execute upselling and cross-selling techniques to meet weekly sales targets.
• Master Client Retention: Manage appointments, walk-ins; actively promote rebooking and build a loyal, recurring client book.
• Maintain Premium Sanitation Standards: Exceed industry hygiene regulations by ensuring strict sterilization of tools (clippers, shears, straight razors) and keeping the workstation pristine.
• Lead and Mentor: Act as a technical and commercial mentor for junior barbers or apprentices, fostering skill development, sharing shaving techniques, and teaching client-handling strategies.
• Stay Ahead of Grooming Trends: Continuous learning of evolving men's style trends, modern texturizing techniques, and innovative grooming tools to keep the shop at the cutting edge.

Experience
• Proven Experience: Demonstrated history of working as a professional barber in a high-traffic barber shop or premium male grooming salon.
• Advanced Technical Mastery: Expert-level command of clipper-over-comb, shear-over-comb, texturizing, and razor-cutting techniques. Mastery of the traditional hot towel straight-razor shave is essential.
• Commercial & Retail Acumen: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding retail sales goals, with solid knowledge of product ingredients, hair/scalp analysis, and consultative selling.
• Client Management Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build rapport, handle objections, and secure high rates of client rebooking.
• Operational & Tech Savvy: Experience utilizing modern booking apps/POS systems, managing front-desk operations when needed, and understanding basic retail math (e.g., average ticket value, rebooking rates).
• Leadership Experience: Prior experience training apprentices, leading masterclasses, or managing shop floor flow is highly valued.
