Job Overview
BLB Studios is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Nail Technician / Manicurist to join our growing beauty team.
We are looking for someone who is confident in their craft, passionate about the beauty industry, and committed to creating an exceptional client experience. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering beautiful, high-quality work while making every client feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for.
Experience with Russian manicures and advanced nail techniques is highly preferred.
Compensation Options:
$17-$18 per hour or 45% commission on completed services
Duties & Responsibility
● Perform professional manicures, Russian manicures, gel manicures, structured manicures, acrylics, extensions, nail art, and pedicures based on experience and training.
● Provide client consultations and recommend appropriate nail services, shapes, colors, designs, and maintenance routines.
● Deliver consistent, high-quality results while working efficiently in a fast-paced salon environment.
● Educate clients on proper nail care, healthy growth, aftercare, and recommended maintenance schedules.
● Follow all required sanitation, disinfection, cleanliness, and salon safety protocols before, during, and after every service.
● Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation throughout each shift.
● Properly clean, disinfect, store, and maintain tools, equipment, and products.
● Stay current on nail trends, techniques, products, industry standards, and safety guidelines.
● Assist with recommending and selling professional nail-care products when applicable.
● Help create a positive, welcoming, team-oriented atmosphere within BLB Studios.
● Provide exceptional customer service with a focus on client satisfaction, retention, and long-term relationships.
● Maintain professionalism, punctuality, reliability, and respectful communication with clients and team members.
Skills
● Strong knowledge of nail preparation, shaping, application, structure, and finishing techniques.
● Proficiency in multiple nail systems, including acrylic, gel, builder gel, Gel-X/extensions, polygel, and other professional nail enhancements.
● Russian manicure experience is highly preferred.
● Experience performing professional pedicures and proper foot/nail care services.
● Strong understanding of color theory, nail art, design placement, shaping, and creating visually balanced nail designs.
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, polished results.
● Excellent understanding of sanitation, disinfection, infection-control practices, and salon safety standards.
● Excellent communication and consultation skills.
● Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality.
● Strong customer-service skills with an understanding of client retention and relationship building.
● Comfortable recommending services, upgrades, maintenance appointments, and retail products when appropriate.
● Reliable, professional, motivated, and willing to grow with the BLB Studios team.
● Previous experience in the beauty or nail industry preferred.
● New York State Nail Specialty license preferred.
