Job Overview
Intire Health Physician Group is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and licensed Medical Massage Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. This position provides therapeutic massage treatments for patients recovering from work-related injuries (Federal and State Workers' Compensation/Department of Labor) and personal injuries. Working closely with physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals, the Medical Massage Therapist will help reduce pain, improve mobility, promote healing, and support patients throughout their recovery process. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, and committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to treatment plans.
Responsibilities
• Perform medical massage therapy based on physician referrals and individualized treatment plans.
• Evaluate patients' symptoms, pain levels, range of motion, and muscular dysfunction prior to treatment.
• Utilize therapeutic massage techniques including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, neuromuscular therapy, lymphatic techniques, and stretching as appropriate.
• Document each treatment accurately and promptly.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment outcomes or concerns with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients on home stretching, self-care techniques, posture, body mechanics, and injury prevention.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Ensure treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies are clean, sanitized, and organized.
• Follow all clinic policies and safety protocols.
• Maintain current state licensure and complete continuing education requirements.
• Provide exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming and professional patient experience.
Requirements
• Valid state licensure as a Medical Massage Therapist or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience in massage therapy with a focus on pain management and injury recovery.
• Workers' Compensation (Federal OWCP and State DOL) patient care is preferred but not required.
• Sports medicine/PT experience preferred.
• Proficiency in multiple massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health modalities.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient assessment procedures.
• Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required to ensure client safety during treatments.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to listen actively and address individual needs effectively.
• Prior experience working with patients experiencing pain or recovering from injuries is highly desirable.
• A commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a compassionate and professional manner.
