Role Description The Hairstylist is a full-time, on-site role based at Glamour Lounge in Columbia, MD. The Hairstylist will perform a range of services including blowouts, cuts, styling, color applications, and hair care treatments tailored to client needs and preferences. Daily responsibilities include greeting clients, consulting on desired looks, recommending appropriate products and services, and maintaining a clean, organized station. The role involves building client relationships, managing appointment schedules, and collaborating with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality service. The Hairstylist will also follow salon safety and sanitation standards, stay current with industry trends, and support occasional promotional events within the mall.
Qualifications
• Strong proficiency in Hair Styling and Hair Care techniques appropriate for blowouts, cuts, and color services.
• Formal training or certification in Cosmetology; active state cosmetology license (or eligibility to obtain) in Maryland.
• Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with a focus on client satisfaction, repeat business, and professional demeanor.
• Clear and professional Communication skills to conduct consultations, explain services, and recommend products.
• Ability to work on-site full time, including evenings, weekends, and peak mall hours as needed.
• Experience in a salon or blowout bar environment is preferred; familiarity with current hair trends and products is beneficial.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation, with adherence to health and safety guidelines.
• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented salon setting.
