Hairstylist/Cosmetologist

Fiddleheads is growing, and we're looking for a DC-licensed cosmetologist/hairstylist who is ready to grow with us.

Whether you're fresh out of cosmetology school or have a few years behind the chair, you don't need to have everything figured out. What matters most is that you're curious, committed to learning, and ready to become an exceptional stylist and teammate.

At Fiddleheads, we believe hair is about more than the service itself. It's about connection, confidence, self expression, and helping people feel at home in their natural texture. We are a curl-centric salon passionate about working with curly, wavy, coily, and textured hair-and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of something meaningful.

We're not looking for someone who simply wants to fill a chair and build a book of clients. We're looking for someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of their clients, contribute to their team, and be part of a larger mission.

Who we're looking for

You may be newly licensed or have several years of experience. The number of years you've spent behind the chair is not the most important thing to us.

We're looking for someone who:
• Holds a current DC cosmetology license
• Is Passionate about-or eager to learn more about- curly, wavy, coily, and textured hair
• Is committed to continuous learning and improving their craft
• Believes their best work happens in a supportive environment
• Communicates openly, honestly, and respectfully
• Takes ownership of their work and is willing to learn from mistakes
• Shows up with integrity, accountability, and a positive attitude
• Wants to contribute to a team rather than simple work alongside one
• Is committed to providing an exceptional client experience

Qualifications
• Current, valid DC cosmetology license
• Experience in a professional salon environment is preferred but newly licensed stylists are encouraged to apply.
• Strong understanding of sanitation and safety practices
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to create a welcoming, professional experience for every client
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Dependability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn
• A genuine interest in working with natural texture and helping clients feel confident in their hair

Pay: $45,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
