Independent Hair Stylist & hourly to commission stylist

Bobbi Detroit is looking for an experienced, self-motivated stylist who is confident behind the chair but wants the support of an established salon brand, professional marketing, and new-client opportunities.

Position one: role is ideal for a stylist who wants flexibility and independence without immediately committing to full chair rental.

Position two: role is ideal for a stylist who wants consist hourly pay until comfortable to be on commission, who wants flexibility and eager to grow a clientele.

How It Works

Bobbi provides:
• An elevated salon space
• Marketing and brand exposure
• Online booking and guest communication
• New-client opportunities
• Professional color and back-bar products onsite

The stylist:
• Chooses her own schedule
• Accepts appointments based on availability
• Performs services independently
• Has discretion to adjust starting prices when appropriate
• Receives an agreed percentage of service revenue
• Is charged for product used during services
• May transition to chair rental as her clientele grows

There is no chair-rental fee during the commission-split phase.

Ideal Candidate
• Holds an active Michigan cosmetology license
• Has professional salon experience
• Can perform services without ongoing technical training
• Is confident in consultations, pricing, and guest communication
• Is reliable, professional, and motivated to retain clients
• Has experience in color, blonding, extensions, cutting, or styling
• Wants support growing clientele while remaining independent

This is not an assistant or beginner training position.

Compensation and Schedule

This is a commission-based independent-contractor opportunity. Compensation is based on completed services, less applicable product costs.

Artists choose their own availability. Appointment volume and income are not guaranteed.

Growth Opportunity

Once the stylist has built a consistent requested clientele, she may become eligible to transition into a chair-rental arrangement and retain more of her service revenue.
