We're looking for a talented and compassionate Hair Stylist to join our growing team.

The Role

As a Hair Stylist specializing in toupee fitting and scalp treatments, you'll be the hands-on expert our clients trust with one of their most personal concerns — their hair. You'll design, fit, style, and maintain custom hair systems (toupees and hairpieces), while also providing scalp health treatments. This is a relationship-driven role where technical skill meets genuine care. Full training on our specialized techniques and products will be provided.

What You'll Do
• Administer scalp treatments including cleansing therapies, follicle stimulation protocols, and moisture/oil balance treatments
• Support senior stylists during appointments — prepping stations, washing clients' scalps, and cleaning and restoring client’s hairpieces and systems
• Educate clients on at-home care routines for both their hair systems and scalp health
• Collaborate with the broader New Look Institute team to deliver a seamless, premium client experience

Where You'll Grow
• Fit, cut, color, and style custom toupees and hairpieces to blend seamlessly with each client's natural hair and facial features
• Perform bonding, attachment, and removal of hair systems using adhesives, tapes, and integration methods
• Clean, condition, and restore client’s hairpieces and hair systems as needed
• Maintain detailed client records including hair system attachments, color formulas, and treatment history
• Stay current on the latest hair system technologies, adhesive products, and scalp care innovations

What We're Looking For
• Valid cosmetology license in California (required)
• 1+ years of behind-the-chair salon experience
• A keen eye for color matching, blending, and natural-looking style
• Excellent communication and active listening skills — clients are often navigating a sensitive journey
• Eagerness to learn specialized techniques in toupee fitting, attachment methods, and scalp treatment
• Ability to build long-term client relationships built on trust and discretion
• Detail-oriented and organized, with strong record-keeping habits

Bonus Points For:
• Experience fitting and styling hair systems, toupees, or hairpieces
• Experience with medical hair loss clients (chemotherapy recovery, alopecia areata, trichotillomania)
• Training in trichology or scalp health certification
• Bilingual skills
